Vivek brings experience designing, implementing and maintaining distributed real time communication systems. He wants to help organizations design robust, scalable and resilient software systems to achieve their goals. In addition, he wants to help connect organizations to coding bootcamps and other sources of underrepresented talent to bootstrap their technical teams.
Vivek has a background in electrical & computer engineering, with an additional focus on diversity & inclusion efforts in the tech industry. While at Twilio, he has worked on the voice connectivity team, helped lead D&I efforts, and taught an internal coding bootcamp. Presently, he is building Hatch, a software engineering apprenticeship for underrepresented talent in tech.
He enjoys employing his technical and interpersonal skills to organizations that focus on animal welfare, access to education and democratic freedom. He has contributed to open-source projects such as FFTF's HelloVote and avaaz.org's phonebank solutions through Twilio.org partnerships. In addition, he has volunteered with Larkin Street Youth Services in the past and is currently a volunteer mentor at the San Francisco SPCA.
